| Our staff is responsible to educate Ohio consumers about Medicaid Managed Care, select a health plan, and find a doctor. We are proud of our long standing partnership with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and our work in Ohio .
Consumers in Medicaid managed care get to choose a managed care plan (MCP). An MCP is a health care company. Its doctors and hospitals provide health care services covered by Medicaid. If you have Medicaid and are in an MCP, you will need to get health care from the doctors and hospitals that are with your MCP.
It is important that you choose a MCP that best meets your needs. To help you choose the MCP that is right for you, think about these questions:
-
Do you or any family member have a doctor that you want to provide your care?
-
Do you or any family member have a health problem that needs to be treated by a specific type of doctor or specialist?
-
Do you have a hospital that you would like to provide your care?
-
Are you or any family member pregnant and wanting to be under the care of a certain doctor?
-
Do you or any family member need help with getting a ride to the doctor?
After thinking about those questions, you can call the Ohio Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment Center at 1-800-605-3040 and make your MCP selection over the phone. an Enrollment Counselor will be available to answer any questions you may have. They will also help you select the MCP of your choice.
