This means that the managed care plans (MCPs), the hospitals that contract with them, and the extra services and benefits the MCPs offer that are described here are available to eligible individuals residing in the following counties:

Eligible individuals are certain individuals who receive health care benefits through the Ohio Medicaid program for the aged, blind or disabled.

Please take the time to read all the information about the MCPs available to you. This information can help you choose the MCP that is best for you. To learn about the doctors that are part of the plan or to ask questions about the MCP, you can call (toll-free) the Member Services line for each plan listed below.

Open Enrollment

As a member of a Medicaid managed care plan, you have the option to change the plan that you have selected within the first three months of your membership or annually, thereafter, during your region's open enrollment month, which is March.

East Central Region Transportation Benefits

MCPs must provide transportation for its members if:

  1. It is medically necessary for a member to use an ambulance or ambulette for transport to an MCP-covered service; and/or
  2. A member must travel 30 miles or more from their home to reach an MCP-authorized provider.

MCPs may provide additional transportation services as an extra benefit to members. The extra transportation assistance listed below is in addition to the transportation MCPs must provide to their members as listed above. For more information on how to arrange non-emergency transportation, contact the MCP’s member services.

The county department of job and family services will provide transportation through the Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) program whenever the transportation shown below is not provided by the MCP.

To help you choose the Managed Care Plan or MCP that is right for you, think about the following questions while also reading the information included in this mailing. After you have considered the questions below, call the Ohio Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment Center (MCEC) at 1-800-605-3040 to speak to an Enrollment Counselor or visit them on-line at www.ohiomcec.com. The MCEC will answer any questions you have and help you select the Managed Care Plan of your choice.

Remember, when you receive a notice in the mail that tells you it is time to choose your MCP, simply call the Managed Care Enrollment Center at the toll-free number below to choose your MCP. If YOU do not choose, an MCP will be chosen for you.
